Coffee Mornings
Two teams keep our church spick and span and our lawns and gardens looking good!
Cleanliness is next to Godliness . . . remember that one? Most Friday mornings between 9am and 11am volunteers come to sweep and mop, dust and polish, and generally keep our worship space bright. We don't have a rota, but there is equipment for all - the more, the merrier!
Around Holy Week we usually spring clean, especially on Holy Thursday. Unfortunately, this April we are having a break, so when we meet again . . . please bring a damp duster!
As for Gardening, we have a small group who have maintained and improved the front lawns and borders over the last two years, and one parishioner (he’s asked not to be named!) who seems to cut the lawns unobtrusively every week!
The rear garden which many parishioners may never have seen, has been completely renewed in the last year. Now with attractive borders thanks to a couple who also don’t wish to be named, it’s likely that it will be open to the parish on special occasions. The rear garden is where Fr John and Fr Michael filmed the Stations of the Cross during Lent. This garden is accessible from the school and in the future may be used by the pupils for special events.
